Police and special force Hanuman soldiers stormed the Terminal 21 shopping centre in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima and rescued 100s of people but the assailant is still at large inside.
The soldier fred shots in several places, including a residence and an army base, before proceeding to the mall in Nakhon Ratchasima, which is about two hundred and fifty km from the capital Bangkok, as reported by the defence ministry spokesman Kongcheep Tantrawanit.

Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) is one of the 4 major cities of Isan, Thailand, known as the “big 4r of Isan”. The city is also known as Korat, a shortened version of its name.
Local media aired video clips of the soldier getting out of a car in front of the shopping mall and firing off a round of shots, sending people fleeing for cover.
CCTV footage and eye witness videos from inside the mall posted on social media showed the culpri dressed in black and wearing a mask.
It is not clear how many are still inside the mall. Police have identified the suspect as Jakrapanth Thomma.
